Adam Niklewski

Head of Section Fleet in Service, DNV Poland

President of the Employers' Association Polska Platforma LNG and bioLNG, a graduate of the Gdańsk University of Technology at the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Shipbuilding, based his master's thesis on knowledge and internships completed at the Technical Universitat Hamburg-Harburg (TUHH) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Additionally, he is a graduate of the International Executive MBA program. He has been associated with DNV for 19 years, dealing with project management related to, among others, with supervision over ship repairs and certification of ship equipment in Poland and abroad. In his previous work, he was also delegated to direct negotiations with flag administrations on topics related to IMO International Conventions.

Currently, he is most involved in the topic of decarbonization and the implementation of the IMO strategy for reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) in the years 2020-2050. On a daily basis, he is responsible for DNV's operations in the line of service ships in the south-eastern Baltic Sea. He cooperates, among others, at the expert level with entities such as: the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Infrastructure, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management and the Pomeranian Voivodeship Assembly. Previously an employee and lecturer at the Gdańsk University of Technology and an employee of the IMP of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
